Psalms 91:11 (ESV) For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.
Revelation 12:11 (ESV) And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.
Thank God for His Word, for the blood of Jesus and for the angels. I believe what could have been devastation and destruction is now instead a testimony to the goodness of God and the power of the blood of Jesus. Yesterday started like any other day, we planned to go for a drive and explore the countryside. Before leaving we prayed together; covered ourselves and car with the blood of Jesus, thanked God that He is with us always and that His angels keep us and protect us from danger and harm (Psalm 91).
While driving on a gravel road with trees and a gully on one side and an embankment on the other we hit a sweeping turn to the right. Suddenly the back tyres were fishtailing around, and the car was out of control. One minute I was heading directly very fast toward a tree and the very next second we were diagonally across the road and totally stationary. I could see while we were moving that Chris was desperately trying to gain control of the steering, but the back end of the car seemed to be all over the place. While facing the tree direct on a thought crossed my mind – No this is not the way it ends for me. What seemed like it was going to be total destruction of us and the car stopped as suddenly as it had begun. For a second, we both sat and breathed, then Chris said, ‘Praise the Lord, thank you God’. I quickly joined in; both of us praising and thanking God for His goodness and the protection of the blood of Jesus. His mighty angels setting us in place diagonally across the road and stationary. It was amazing, thank you Lord.
Later Chris admitted that he was not expecting that and was taken a bit off guard. But you know – we had prayed, and God had answered. To me this was encouraging; a crisis had been averted, God had taken care of us. The angels had watched over us and kept us from even a scratch on the car, no damage or injury. O how precious is the blood of our Saviour, how wonderful His love and care. How great is our God!!! What Satan could have used for harm and destruction is now a testimony of the goodness of our God. Thank you, Lord, that you do care for us. You are watching over us. Thank God for Psalm 91. Don’t forget to pray Psalm 91 over yourself before you leave the house today.

An event happened to Wendy and I just yesterday. We went for a country drive on some dirt roads in our Kluger AWD. Being a farmer’s son, I spent more time on dirt roads than bitumen roads in my younger days and understand loose gravel and drifting and things like that. Yesterday’s event was my mistake as I lost complete driving focus while in conversation. We hit a corner where the car lost traction and three times the back end of the car started overtaking the front-end almost resulting in spin-out each time. The last time the back end was overtaking the front end and was heading over a bank and I knew I couldn’t stop it. My confidence on driving on dirt roads was not enough to get us out of the situation. I knew we were heading over the bank of the road but at the at the last moment the vehicle stopped sliding sideways and went straight forward then stopped in the middle of the road. We drove up the road to a place we could pull over and get our bearings. We ended up going back to see the tracks that we made. At that bank the tracks were an L shape at the point where the car would have gone over the bank (approx. 1 to 3 metre drop). The car was going at speed and did an L shape change in direction right at the bank of the road. My abilities were not enough to stop the car going over. While we were still in the house before we left, we prayed God’s goodness and God’s protection over our trip. I believe that prayer and God’s protection was the difference between an interesting event and a road accident. I praise God for His protection. As humans we like to be in control, but instead we should be casting our care upon a God who has ability and desire to save us in every situation.
